My Daddy did not raise a cissy girl! I know how to change a tire, check my own oil and can do minor repairs on my lawnmower. I was quite the tomboy growing up...riding my horse, climbing trees, riding my bike, playing army and cowboys and indians and making frog houses in the sandpile...anything that had anything to do with the outdoors. I was always ready to go fishing with my Daddy...many fishing spots around Lufkin was where we did all our fishing. My Dad also taught me how to hunt and he\'d always take me squirrel and deer hunting with him. His Golden Rule of hunting was you didn\'t kill anything you didn\'t intend to eat! I didn\'t get my first deer until I was 22 though. My Dad made a promise to me when I was 12 that he\'d have my first deer mounted for me and he fulfilled that promise. I was one of the first girls to join FFA back when girls were first allowed in and I was awarded the Star Greenhand Farmer award my first year. I raised hogs and absolutely loved them! I found it odd that on Ag field trips it was me and a couple of other girls that were told to wrestle the calves to the ground so that they could be castrated and the boys got to do the castrating. If I had a do-over it would be to teach Ag instead of Computer Applications, or perhaps to have become a Veterinarian. But it\'s still all good.

I know that I have gotten through all the ups and downs by the grace of God. It is my faith that has helped me through some of the tough times and that is what sustains me. I do attend church and I am active with the Youth group at my church on Wednesday evenings.

I love riding horses and have been riding since I was 3 or 4 years old. I was saddling my own horse as soon as I was tall enough to throw the saddle over my horse\'s back. I love riding and was an avid trailrider (at least 2 a month and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo trailride for 12 years) but then I changed professions which did not allow me the time to take off from work anymore. Women who didn\'t saddle their own horse, take care of them after a day\'s ride and cried over a broken fingernail or had to put their makeup on before they took off for a day\'s ride drove me nuts! You\'re on a TRAILRIDE for Pete\'s sake! I miss trailriding so much and would love to be able to hit the trail again. I have one horse, my Paint stud, Bandit. He\'s a big puppy dog! A dream of mine has always been to raise Paints. I\'m open to raising any type of livestock. I have put in all-nighters walking a colicky horse, cleaning stalls, mending fences, hauling hay and helping out with foaling and calving. I\'ve wondered about raising Alpacas...anyone know anything about it? I\'d love to hear about it and learn something new.

I\'m NOT fond of beauty shops or malls and generally do not go shopping unless it\'s necessary. Don\'t get me wrong, I can dress up or dress down, whatever the occasion calls for. I like going out to eat or to the movies but also enjoy a good home-cooked meal, bar-b-ques, entertaining and DVD movies at home.

I have finished raising my two children, a daughter and a son, and am ready to strike out on my own and enjoying all that life has to offer. I would love to do some traveling and visiting parts of our great country that I haven\'t had the pleasure of seeing yet, especially Alaska, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, Washington state and Oregon...maybe even throw in North and South Dakota, New Zealand and Australia...awe heck, I\'m game for traveling anywhere!

I have a new grandson, my first grandchild, who was born 6/14/10. I\'m looking forward to having him as my fishing buddy, introducing him to horses and someone to watch all those football games with, lol!

Woohoo...I\'m going to Corpus this weekend for some fishing, dining out and beach going before I have to go back to school on 8/16!
