About Rimrock-Dancer:
The profile pic is of a beaded bag that I made for a local art show on my reservation a few years ago. The second pic is a belt buckle that was entered the previous year to the beaded bag. The beads were small enough to fit four on the head of a straight pin. I just wanted to experiment with my tiniest bead on this buckle. It won a Timberline Lodge Purchase Award and was taken to that resort, from there I don't know where it has migrated to.
About me: I am a lady entrepreneur and an artist of cultural arts & crafts. My Native American affiliation is with the Wasco Tribe; my historic cultural turf is the Pacific Northwest. I'm half Native from my mother and half Caucasian with a dash of Algonquin from my father. I'm a Grandmother, adopted my terrific granddaughter and I'm the parent of 7 grown children. I'm fluffy and working on the weight loss. One of my goals for my lifestyle is Prov. 31:10-31.
I had focused on an idea that my Mom and many of the local females elders have had over the years: to be able to help promote the culturally significant food and medicine plants that are important to our tribal people. So I'm a bit of a different kind of farmer. I still have my plans and research going on that. I am retired now (yayy!) but my last job was as a Telecommunications Officer for our tribal Police Department.
My home turf: I live on my reservation in central Oregon. We live on 1.75 acres in a somewhat rural setting within our reservation, which is a little over 650,000 acres of mountainous timber to high desert plateaus of open range. My rez is somewhat large, having a lot of land that can be developed into farmable acreage. I would like to move to a more rural area as I have too many close neighbors; it's too crowded here for my liking!
Things I like: fresh air, gardening, self-sufficiency, DIY projects, home and family life with my granddaughter, extended family, and friends old and new. But its hard to carry on a conversation with them when they don't have an agricultural interest, so I often feel isolated even in a crowd. My granddaughter and I have three dogs (one is wolf-mix) and four cats. I would like to get back into raising a few chickens as I enjoy watching them and the eggs are an added bonus! I like most kinds of music: golden oldies, R & B, gospel, country, and, very rarely, rap. (Underline very) I like to dance to the music if its a slow dance as I have osteoarthritis in both knee joints and rotator cuff damage in my shoulders; fast, sudden movements can cause injuries. I try to work around my pain when it occurs. I enjoy learning new things, a lifelong learner, and would find it to be enjoyable to share/compare my knowledge, hobbies, and talents with a special friend. I feel that I'm a low-maintenance type of person; I'm happy with good conversation and quiet times as well as doing stuff together. I have a 9mm pistol, Charter Arms AR-7 and Savage .308 and I will hopefully be getting my grandkid involved in shooting.
Things on my to-do list: restart my yard and garden, add an orchard, finish repainting my kitchen cabinets, and whatever else I can think of that can make life a little easier and fun after I've been playing in the dirt! The yard, garden and orchard plans are from letting it all go so I could focus on taking care of my Dad for the last four years of his life. It was the hardest job I've ever had and the most rewarding as I had so much time to spend with him, listening to him reminisce about Mom and their past life. If I had it to do over again, knowing the end was coming, I would still do it without a second thought. Other than all that, I keep busy with my day-to-day stuff.

I would like to find a best friend for starters. My preference is to meet a nice gentleman that is satisfied with life for the most part. He*d be anywhere from 5*10* to 6*4* or taller, but that*s not set in stone. It wouldn*t matter if he*s balding, bald or shaved..its the twinkle in his eye when he*s smiling and his laughter that would get my attention! Well, he could have a full head of hair, too..as long as it isn*t longer than mine (which is just a bit past my waist).
He*d be fun, funny, serious when need be, have a lot of patience with my nuttiness (including my hopes and dreams), accepting of my need to take care of my granddaughter and supportive of my weight loss efforts. He would be good at teamwork (with me, not a set of horses...but horses are good, too), likes animals, enjoys the smell of the air after the rain. If he*s a parent or guardian of his own child or grandchild, that*s good, too. He would believe in the Creator of our world.
He*d be either happily employed or retired with his own hobbies, interests or ideas of things to do that we could enjoy together from time to time. We would have several interests in common. In either of our homes, he*d be comfortable puttering around in the kitchen, hanging around in the house when the weather is bad and enjoying our time together. It would be a plus if he*s mechanically inclined and willing to advise me when I get in a jam with some of my ideas. He*d be willing to share his interests with me and I*d share mine with him.
He*d be a *touchy-feely* kind of guy and not bashful about giving or receiving PDA*s...affectionate, somewhat romantic. If, later on, things got to a different relationship level, that would be nice, too...but I*m not rushing that.
