My strongest virtues are honesty, loyalty, courage, and love. I am a thinker, always seeking to learn, refine and apply knowledge. I have a deep and abiding love for the natural world. I believe in, love, and serve Christ. I seek to live a sustainable, healthy lifestyle, with minimal impact on the environment. I am very romantic and affectionate, loyal and monogamous.

My background is in fisheries and environmental law. My law practice includes cases involving the Endangered Species Act and Clean Water Act, mostly representing farmers and ranchers. I have lived in many places, but a few years ago I moved back to the family farm in Kansas. I practice law out of my home, and help my family work and manage our farm. We are in the process of restoring soil fertility and function, planting trees, herbs and pastures, building ponds and greenhouses, and are generally trying to make a self-sufficient, wildlife-friendly farm. We raise much of our own food, and are trying to eliminate all unnatural inputs. We use alternative energy (sun and wind) as much as possible. We are also moving toward older traditions, from organic gardening and herbal healing to creating our own music, arts and crafts.

I am always seeking challenges. I was into outdoor adventure sports, including rock climbing, mountain biking, and backpacking. Since moving to the farm, my focus has shifted to things which are less likely to get me killed. I hunt and fish, am learning to play the tin whistle and banjo, like to cook, and am learning about herbs. I’m a bookworm, and have a nice library, mostly science, history, fiction, and poetry. I also like to write.
