Having spent my formative years in Africa, I have never felt completely \"normal.\" I love to read, love to write, and am quiet by nature. At the same time, I adapt readily to situations, and find my inner life too complex to understand myself, never mind explain to others :-) I live in the city, but thrive in nature. When spending time on farms in my family, I have felt enlivened by nature, and inspired by God\'s creation--inspired to think, to write, to shout out to the world about the beauty to be noticed: beauty in tiny details as well as in the obvious.
My faith is central to my life, and has been since I was a child, raised by a missionary pastor. But I think too much to settle much, and dislike much standard religiosity. So I find myself liberal in many ways, though it was never a conscious decision to be so . . .
