Currently, I am working as a Special Education Teacher in the DC Metro area and nearing retirement. I have a house
and barn on about 19 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Floyd County, Virginia. My land at one time had 11 acres of apples. I have contracted out to have 26 of my trees pruned over the next two years by an expert. They are standard sized and some of them are heritage types. My friend at the University of Maryland tried to help me id some of them. My dream has been to grow as organic a product as possible and run a small community based juicing operation, sell apples to our local organic broker and make other apple products for sale. I also want to grow garlic and build up my berry patches.

Sunset is a beautiful place with a wonderfully quiet and peaceful vibe.
