Greetings and thanks for stoppin' by. A lil background:

In my teens I was an aspiring jockey at New York's Belmont Park Racetrack. In high school I could gap my own plugs and was the only girl brave enough to race the boys. In college I was an English major with a 4.0 GPA, pursuing a degree in Journalism. In my 20's I not only rode Harleys but wore the patch of a large, well-known club, finally splitting that scene when I could no longer condone some of their questionable activity. In my 30's I had a child after being told repeatedly it was medically impossible, and married my son's father. In my 40's I was a devoted mother and remained loyal to an affection-less spouse (his favorite saying was, "real men aren't touchie-feelie,") eventually liberating myself and buying a home and land with my own money.

Today I enjoy the serenity of life outside the city limits (only 14 miles to the nearest grocery store,) and pride myself in befriending and assisting people with no local family. My son, now a teenager, is an Honor Roll student who goes back and forth between my house and his dad's. (And no, he doesn't need a father, just a good role model!) I am close with my folks, who are gettin' on in years and sometimes need my help.

My parents raised me to be courteous and polite, and when I give my word, I keep it! I'm into guns and gardening, I like to cook, sip a little whiskey on occasion, listen to a wide range of music, play guitar and even sing a bit. I enjoy four-wheeling, quads and dirt bikes. I've owned horses and have lived rurally for 25 yrs, and I wouldn't have it any other way! My gelding and I have done everything from pasture rotations to castrations, de-horns, fence checks and 7-hr gathers! These days we enjoy the slower pace of quiet trail rides. He's in his 20's now and has a bit of ringbone in his hocks, but on occasion he can still crow-hop with the best of 'em!

I've lived in Arizona for 34 years cuz I like it here, and this is where my family is! Not here to be indefinite on-site pen-pals or to play games. Just hoping to meet one special man of peace and harmony, with a good balance of brains and brawn, and who possesses the depth of character to know the difference between sport screwin' and actual intimacy, to be a part of my reality!

UPDATE: having been on this site a month now, I realize that there are a lotta fellers here who are neither farmers NOR ranchers. Just a bunch of posers and wannabes. Pathetic.
