Of all the things that I think about doing \"when I grow up,\" farming and country living are two of the things that I believe would make me the happiest. I don\'t have any farming experience. I have always been a country girl. I grew up in rural Vance County right on Kerr Lake. I have always felt a pull to the land and to rural life. In the last four years, I been doing considerable thinking, reading, and talking with folks about agriculture, sustainable farming and simple living.

I am intelligent, earthy, strong, sweet, and perceptive. Quick to laugh, I enjoy the wit and jokes of those around me. Although usually the calm mediator, I can be opinionated and stubborn every so often. I love animals, organic vegetables, family, music (Gillian Welch, Counting Crows, The Band), children, reading (Wendell Berry, John Steinbeck, Jane Austen), and the mountains. You might find me scouring used bookstores, curled up on the couch with popcorn and some movies, playing Frisbee with my yellow lab, or hanging out with friends at local restaurants and coffee shops.
