I am an avid sci-fi/fantasy geek. I love history, horticulture, architecture, the arts and science (not just blowing stuff up, but learning about how and why it blew up!).

I read a variety of material such as: my daily web comics, \"how to\" books, philosophy, mysteries, escape fiction and the classics.

All my life I have been surrounded by animals and they are what keep me sane in a crazy world. I have several dogs and cats. All are rescued strays I\'ve taken in (The Humane Society has me on speed dial under \"Sucker\") or have found me on their own. They are my family.

I own a small property that lets me try to achieve a simpler way of life. I have an \"old world\" way of doing things, but I\'m not afraid to use the latest (or the oldest) technology to get things done. I want to achieve self-sufficiency for my home and work to that end. Greenhouses and wind/solar power are my current projects.
